Ensuring the safety and structural integrity of endovascular stent and device therapies is a guiding principle for regulatory bodies and device manufacturers. Recently the rigors of the biomechanical environment have been a challenge for device developers with stent fractures seen in peripheral and coronary stent use. Clinicians, manufacturers and industry have collaborated to better simulate the in-vivo dynamic biomechanical environment for in-vitro bench tests.
