XStrain technology for diagnostic ultrasound allows physicians to assess the contractibility of both left and right ventricles, thus providing quantitative support to standard stress examinations. It can be used when examining and monitoring patients with systemic disorders or congenital pathologies to identify early changes in cardiac wall motion. The angle-independent, 2D imaging technology is able to follow the myocardial borders over time, allowing visualisation and easy detection of asynergic regions. Furthermore, it enables to measure not only the longitudinal mechanics of the heart, but also the radial and circumferential mechanics of the left ventricle.
