have wireless telemetry capabilities to monitor
New Line of Implantable Cardiac Devices for Europe. The Concerto cardiac resynchronisation therapy-defibrillator (CRT-D) and the Virtuoso single- and dual-chamber implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) incorporate wireless telemetry technology enabling remote communication between the implanted device and programmers, or between the device and a patient’s home monitor. The devices allow patients to automatically receive visual notification on their home computer via the Patient Look Indicator when their device detects an alert (e.g. atrial fibrillation, thoracic fluid accumulation, implanted device performance problem). Patients are then instructed to call their physician. Additionally, patients may also manually initiate a self-check to view the status of their condition, and receive visual notification of their health status.
The devices have, furthermore, the capacity to give a defibrillation shock, and incorporate Optivol fluid status monitoring that measures changes in impedance in the thoracic cavity, thus providing fluid status trends over time. In addition, ATP During Charging technology automatically uses pacing pulses to painlessly stop fast, dangerous heartbeats, while concurrently preparing to deliver a shock if needed, with no delay. The CRT-D also offers left ventricular capture management (LVCM) that automatically senses and adjusts LV impulses to ensure cardiac resynchronisation. The managed ventricular pacing (MVP) mode is available on the dual-chamber ICD to promote intrinsic conduction and reduce right ventricular pacing by 99% (median).
