Compact cardiovascular ultrasound systems
Compact cardiovascular ultrasound systems. The Vivid S6 cardiovascular ultrasound system integrates proven clinical tools, including Tissue Velocity Imaging (TVI) and Tissue Synchronisation Imaging (TSI), as well as both stress echo and trans-oesophageal echo capabilities. Four active transducer connectors and room for on-board peripherals are retained in a miniaturised console weighing less than 70 kg. Enhanced connectivity and productivity tools, as well as its new ergonomic design, make the ultrasound system a great fit for complete routine cardiovascular and shared service ultrasound exams. "The very mobile design of the machine is in keeping with the times and is practical in use; it also requires limited space in labs. For an overall GE echo lab environment, a very exciting feature is the 100% adaptation to the Vivid family in terms of keyboard operation and EchoPAC functionality," said Dr Wolfgang Fehske, Internist and Cardiologist, St. Vinzenz Hospital, Cologne, Germany. Another innovation in compact ultrasound comes with the redesigned Vivid e that will add a fully integrated, three-connector, docking cart, thus creating a true hybrid system with the power of ergonomic console-style and the portability physicians have come to depend on. The system will also expand the application, utility and workflow of the manufacturer's compact product line by completing the cardiac feature set with three probes. The P2D (pencil probe), 9L (vascular) & 8C (abdominal) probes combine to add a fully dockable stress protocol as well as Tissue Doppler, activated by a single keystroke. Adding its DICOM functionality for network communication or its easy-to-share MPEGvue feature only adds to its versatility, according to those who have previewed the system.
