Dry Imager for Multimedia Applications
helps to ease the transition from film to filmless
Dry Imager for Multimedia Applications. Whether a radiology department or medical imaging centre has already installed a PACS or not, hard-copy images are still required, for example, for referring surgeons and other professionals within a multidisciplinary care team. To meet the variety of personal requirements, the Horizon multimedia dry imager offers a combination of media options, from blue-&-clear as well as colour film to colour and greyscale paper, all within a single device, at high speed and without compromising on image quality. For instance, the use of cost-effective greyscale paper for traditional film prints may not only be preferred by the referring physician as it can be read in room light without compromising the image quality, but using, for example, the DirectVista greyscale paper can save a medical imaging centre up to 65% off current film costs. The desktop imager accepts multiple film sizes - including the DirectVista dry diagnostic long film (on Horizon X model) - can hold up to 300 sheets of film, can process up to 100 films per hour and is compatible with many industry-standard protocols, including DICOM and MS Windows network printing. No operator intervention is required to switch between the different media. A built-in densitometer provides automatic calibration to ensure optimal image quality. An innovative CD/DVD publishing solution with a high degree of automation, the Virtua Medical Disc Publisher, complements the multimedia dry imager to provide a comprehensive image documentation solution. The system has dual CD/DVD drives, a high-speed disc label printer and touch-screen monitor, and can also operate as a stand-alone DICOM peripheral.
