CardiAid is an easy-to-use automated external defibrillator (AED) device designed specially for use by the public to provide electroshock treatment in patients with sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). The advantages of having easily accessible AEDs in areas frequented by the general public are being appreciated more and more, with thousands of lives already having been saved by prompt AED use. It is likely that not too far in the future, AEDs will be as common an accessory in public places as fire extinguishers are today.
