Handheld ECG system
The innovative HeartScan system from Omron is a portable handheld ECG system
suitable for both patient and professional use. The new instrument is a cordless, single-channel screening, self-monitoring device that provides information on heart rate, rhythm and the ECG waveform. The single lead recording runs for 28 seconds and includes a multilevel display of deviations from the norm as well as the date and time of the recording, the heart rate and the short-cut analysis. Direct screen display of the data facilitates immediate analysis without the need to print out the results. The system can be used to detect transient or paroxysmal occurrence of cardiac arrhythmias over a period of time that exceeds the conventional 24-hour ECG.
