High resolution display
As imaging technologies progress, images of such high resolution are being produced that even current 5MP displays cannot do them justice. Thus, whenever an image is generated whose native resolution is higher than that which can be reproduced by the monitor, the image is converted to a lower resolution, with an inevitable loss of data. The MS 51i2 display from Totoku solves this problem by incorporating newly developed “independent sub-pixel drive” (ISD) technology. This uses several sub-pixel values corresponding to detailed information that was recorded in one signal pixel of the original image; the ISD system can thus result in an enhancement of the display resolution by a factor of up to three. The super high resolution of the monitor allows excellent image reproduction that is faithful to the original image and with less image degradation.
